Covid 19 has changed the way we conduct our physical therapy clinic. We perform a thorough screening protocol of patients and employees while keeping our facilities sanitized.
Here’s what we do to keep your physical therapy safe during the Covid 19 pandemic.
We remind all visitors with front door signs “Masks are required at all times during your PT session”.
Masks are mandatory for every staff, patient and visitor.
Additionally, when patients check in at the front desk, their temperature is taken via a forehead scanner.
The office manager asks patients if:
- they’ve had a fever > 99.9 F
- a cough or shortness of breath
- muscle pain
- new loss of taste or smell
- sore throat
- if they’ve been in close contact with a confirmed Covid 19 patient
- has the patient previously tested positive for the Covid 19 virus.
Patients meeting any of these criteria are instructed to self-isolate for 14 days and seek medical attention if the condition worsens.
Inside the clinic and exercise areas
Once patients enter the clinic, they are either put in a clean, private treatment room or on a gym exercise table.
To eliminate cross contamination, a patient uses the same private room, exercise table and pillows.
If a patient uses exercise machines, bands, balls or other exercise gadgets, the equipment gets sanitized before and after each use.
Exercise equipment gets sanitized between uses. Also, we regularly sanitize sign-in pens, door handles, light switches, chairs, keyboards, phones, and countertops with sanitizer or Lysol spray.
You’ll find hand sanitizer bottles stationed around the facility.
We wash linens (pillow cases and towels) in hot water with added bleach.
Communal water dispensers have been taken out of service in both locations. However, at River Oaks, patients can access a hallway water fountain. Patients should bring their own water bottle.
We continue to work together to take all precautions for the safety and health of our patients and staff.
